Tom & Lydia Hines | Ecuador
|
|
|
Career missionaries Tom and Lydia Hines are currently under appointment
with Global Partners to Ecuador. Their ministry in Ecuador includes developing
and mentoring ministerial and lay leadership within the Church and
facilitating theological education. They also plan to launch a micro-business
enterprise that will benefit both individual Wesleyans and their churches.
While in living in Ecuador, Tom will continue as the regional director for
Ecuador and El Salvador. As regional director he administrates both fields,
guides in the organization of the churches, trains pastors, and serves as a
member of each country's partnership board.
Tom and Lydia were first missionaries to Honduras 1979-1999 and then to Costa
Rica from 2000-2003. They have also served as developer/directors of the on-line
Spanish resource center, CREA (Centro de Recursos en Español para las Américas).
CREA focuses on the task of equipping Spanish speaking pastors and leaders with
literature and ministry media resource tools. From 2004-2008 they worked out of
the former GP Latin America office that was located in Florida.
"You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go
and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the
Father in My name He may give you" (John 15:16 NKJV).

Jerry & Jody Manwaring | Africa
|
|
|
In 1988 Jerry and Jody Manwaring received their missionary call during a life-changing
work team experience in Fortaleza, Brazil. They were appointed as Global Partners'
missionaries in 1993. They served in Haiti (1993-1997) developing Theological

Jason & Kerensa McFrederick | Czech Republic
Mollyn, Nehemiah
|
|
|
After serving over two years in the Czech Republic, Jason and Kerensa McFrederick,
along with their two children, Mollyn ('03) and Nehemiah ('05), desire to continue
the work God has called them to in the heart of Europe.
After the collapse of communism in 1991, many freedoms, as well as exposure to
numerous spiritual pathways, are now readily available to this predominantly
atheistic nation. Jason and Kerensa want to be a witness to the ultimate freedom
that comes in knowing Christ and discipling believers to follow His pathway in Czech.
Both Jason and Kerensa are graduates of Bartlesville Wesleyan College (now Oklahoma
Wesleyan University). Jason's degrees include a B.S. in general science and an M.A.
in Christian ministry (from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas). He was ordained
in The Wesleyan Church in July 2002. Kerensa earned a B.S. in education with an
endorsement in ESOL.
Jason and Kerensa point to Matthew 9:36 as a poignant verse in their ministry: When
Jesus looked out over the crowds, His heart broke. So confused and aimless they were,
like sheep with no shepherd (The Message).
Please pray for the McFredericks and for the gospel to spread in the Czech Republic!

Cory & Kris Thede | Haiti
Elijah, Anna
|
|
|
Cory felt a call to missionary service during his high school years and chose
to earn a B.S. degree in horticulture to be used in missions. As a child, Kris
(TerAvest) lived for two years on the island of LaGonave in Haiti. It was
during this time that Kris felt a call to missionary service while watching
the staff of the Wesleyan hospital. Over the years, both Cory and Kris have
had a wide and varied experience in missions. Since 1998 they have served as
missionaries in Haiti.
Cory’s desire is to be a servant, using agricultural development to help meet the
needs of his brothers and sisters in Christ, helping to strengthen their faith,
and drawing those who do not know the Lord into a relationship with Him.
In preparation for her ministry, Kris earned her M.D. degree and specialty in
family practice medicine. Her desire is to do the Lord’s will, teaching nationals
to be able to give their people better health care and, thereby, opening doors for
people to see God’s love and receive His salvation.
“…for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the
body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12 NAS).

Rick & Clara West | Ibero-America WF Coordinator
|
|
|
Rick and Clara West are excited to help Transformed Lives – Powerful Churches become
an increasing reality in Ibero-America, and they are anticipating Revelation 7:9 — ...
and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation,
tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They
were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. (NIV)
The Wests began mission service in 1975, serving in Peru until 1994. Rick served as the
area director for Latin America from 1995 until June 2008. Currently he is serving as
coordinator for the Ibero-America Wesleyan Fellowship. The purpose of the Fellowship
is to link Wesleyan ministries in all Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries. The
Fellowship will be the umbrella organization for theological education, ministries to
Wesleyan Youth, and the Ibero-America Wesleyan Women’s Board, as well as the “next
generation mission outreach” by Latinos in Spain and in the African countries of Mali
and Equatorial Guinea. Clara’s ministry includes serving as a consultant to the
Ibero-America Wesleyan Women’s Board; as an administrative assistant to Rick; and as
communication coordinator with their support team.
Rick and Clara have four grown children and seven grandchildren.
...being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to
completion until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6 NIV).
